Move more...

Being sedentary brings with it a list of health ramifications. However, it's not just the long term effects that concern me. It's also how "Newtonian" it can become.

A common thread amongst most ppl I work with is that of being mostly sedentary throughout the day. The reasons for movement are many: hunger regulation, exercise recovery, weight management and improved life expectancy. Yet it’s also time consuming.

As we slip deeper into a world where work exists in the meta verse, “work” is no longer work. It doesn’t involve a physical component and is more likely to take us away from that physicality and drive us into a sedentary lifestyle. Oh, and guess what, working out for an hour doesn’t mean you’re not sedentary. 🤷🏻‍♂️

But just as an object at rest will stay at rest, an object in motion will stay in motion (unless acted upon by an outside force). So let’s use whatever we can to start moving and see how that inertia carries over.

Walking may be one of the single greatest things we can do for our health. While it might take some time now, you’ll likely get that time on the back end. That’s a pretty good ROI if you ask me.
