You are the expert... on you

Coaching is problem solving. Yet coaching is not about providing a list of solutions. Rather than viewing the relationship from a position of authority, see it as collaboration.

Whether you are a coach or a client, it’s important to note that there are great differences in how coaching is often viewed and what’s actually effective.

The cliché is “you are the expert on you” so why would your coach purport to be the one dictating your path?

What we work on in my practice, before anything else, is developing a vision of what our time together looks like. We look at the overall goals all the way down to the steps we will take to get there. And the client is in the driver’s seat from day one.

When we talk about client centered coaching this is the definition.

If you’ve struggled in the past with finding a sustainable change that works for you, maybe it’s because it was someone else’s plan. Shoot me a DM or click “work with me” in my bio if you’d like to learn more.
