Are you willing to change?

Want to stay the same? Then keep asking the universe to change for you.

The uniqueness of the human experience makes it beautiful but at the daily level, we aren’t all that different. A common thread I see among those who consistently fall short of their goals is their own insistence that they are different or special or broken. That they require specific conditions which no one else does. While they think they are creating an environment of potential success they are instead preemptively setting excuses to fail.

What is the more likely outcome? That we change our behaviors or that the world changes theirs? So why do we continue to proclaim our conditions for success when they run counter to the reality of our environment?

“I’m too busy to prep food or to plan or to cook.”

  • “Cool. What about a meal prep service? Or how can you frame your day or utilize technology like an air fryer or crock pot to prioritize these things?

“I’m bad with sticking to things and introverted so I need someone to stay on top of me.”

  • “That’s understandable. Why don’t you set reminders to reach out with your daily goals?”

Maybe the thing that’s been holding you back isn’t external. Maybe it’s you. It’s a hard pill to swallow but once we do it’s liberating.

Stop waiting around for the world to change. Stop expecting that you will finally succeed when the Universe stops it’s purpose and starts catering just to you. The reality is that you will need to be the one to change. If you keep waiting for the world to change for you, you’ll be waiting forever.
