Influence

Look around at your environment. What influences your behaviors around food? Is it the foods themselves? Or perhaps your friends/family? Or the latest pop-fitness personality on social media?

We are being advertised to constantly. It’s been posited that we see 4,000 ads per day. How many of those are for food? Is it any wonder that our mind unconsciously pushes us towards Taco Bell?

We can’t defeat advertisers. There is far too much money to be made for them to stop. But we can control other aspects. Who we surround ourselves with, the foods we keep in our home, and the people we follow on social media can all be either a positive or negative influence.

Whether we like it or not we are constantly being influenced. We can’t control that. But we can control who we let into our lives. That’s the ultimate influence.
