Grounding habits

Each day we progress further into the unknown. We take one more step off the precipice of our illusions and fall deeper into reality.

As we settle into this new normal it’s important to create or extend our current practices. While we may not be able to do things just as we had a week or two prior, we can still work on being better.

My grounding habits are morning writing to all of you and training. Writing is going great. Training however...

Many of you likely feel the same. I obviously can’t do Jiu jitsu (not the most social distance friendly activity) and my gym is closed for the foreseeable future. I’m fortunate to have some dumbbells and a bench in my apartment gym. So I’ll be focusing on some weaknesses in position. I’ll also prob do some running.

I hate running. But it’s not about running, it’s about habit. It’s about creating a sense of stability in my day. It’s about the psychological healing power of exercise.

It’s not ideal. It’s not gonna put muscle on. It’s not gonna jive with my goals from a month ago. But that’s life. We can choose to ignore it or accept it. And in acceptance we can create action. That’s a beautiful place to be.
